AMERICOIF History
| Americoif is a unique group of hairdressers - for
hairdressers - without commercial sponsorship. It is a non-profit organization that
consists of many of the finest and talented professional hairdressers in the Detroit
Metropolitan area and Michigan. People of greatness in their own right, who are humble
enough to search out and appreciate the enthusiasm generated by their colleagues.
Dedicated people who are sensitive to the mercurial changes in the hair fashion and beauty
industry and take these changes and translate them into the hair fashions of today.The members learn to
maintain a higher standard of ethics in relation to each other as well as the public and
to improve the professional standard of the hairdressing industry. They also learn how to
present their work on stage and go on to take higher positions in the organization that
take part in producing the six shows that are put on each year which include guest artists
from all over the world.
To become a member: Seek out two members of Americoif that are in good standing that feel your work is of the quality that would enrich the organization and whose talent would be such that would inspire the other members to improve, thereby creating a constant inertia to make the group better. These two members would sign as sponsors for you on your application for membership which would be passed along to the board of directors with a Cashiers Check for $385.00 from you for final acceptance, to locate two members please call the Americoif office. If accepted you would be required to present at least one finished model before the members during the first or second meeting of your first year of membership.
